ADDING LUXURY TO YOUR BEDROOM

When I hear the word Luxury I immediately think the QT in Sydney, an amazing small boutique hotel conveniently situated in the city centre.  It has an amazing array of art, beautiful decor and sophisticated style.

Luxury means different things to different people.  Trying to capture the feel of luxury depends on the individual. No matter what your budget you can add luxury with a few simple ideas.

You’ve already got the amazing Egyptian cotton sheets, a mattress that makes you feel like you’re sleeping on a cloud, the plush headboard and the matching bedside tables… so what’s  missing? It’s your personal touch.

Candles bring different moods to a room. We love the Everyday Luxury candles, and with such a vast array of fragrances, they not only smell amazing, but add a decorative element that can be used in any room in the house.  Another plus, they make for a fabulous gift.

Cushions bring a touch of personality, style, colour and comfort to a room. They lift a room from nice to styled, but be careful not to overdo it.

Throws – adding a throw blanket can add that pop of colour that a room needs.  A well-chosen throw can certainly add luxury to a room.  They’re also versatile.  As well as looking gorgeous, there’s the added bonus that you can snuggle up in a throw while you’re reading the latest bestseller or watching your favourite movie.

Trust your sense of style. Think of the look and feeling you want to achieve. The sense of joy and satisfaction you want when you look at your completed room.  Try and remember how you felt when you walked into a beautifully appointed hotel room?  What were your first thoughts?  Was it WOW this is amazing. It looks and feels so luxurious. What was it that made it feel luxurious? Was it the throw on the bed? The amazing bedside tables? Those finer details like the candles that smelt amazing and immediately made you feel relaxed?  Was it the texture of the rug on the floor? If you can bring these elements together in your design you will have created your own personal luxurious space that you can enjoy each and every day.
